FOG - Instructional Videos - Cleaning Grease Interceptors

Video: How to clean a volume-based grease interceptor (outdoor interceptor)

Video: How to clean a flow-based grease interceptor (indoor interceptor)

The best way to manage Fats, Oils and Grease or FOG is to keep it out of the sewer system. All Food Service Establishments (FSE) that discharge grease are required to have a grease abatement system according to the WSSC Code. Proper maintenance of a grease abatement system is key to keeping FOG out of the sewer system. Below you will find two instructional videos that outline the proper procedures for cleaning volume based (outdoor) grease interceptors and flow based (indoor) grease interceptors. You will also find a detailed presentation regarding WSSC's expectations for FSEs when it comes to FOG.
