There is an abundance of things to do in and
around the properties owned and operated by WSSC. From fishing to

In addition, we have a beautiful azalea garden located right next
to Brighton Dam in Montgomery County. There are over 22,000 varied
and vibrantly colored azalea plants!

WSSC has 11 designated shore fishing areas.
You can also fish by boat. Most likely, you will catch either a
Striped, Largemouth or Smallmouth bass, a Great Northern pike,
Walleye, Chain Pickerel or a Muskellunge. There's even an annual
fishing contest for fish caught in the reservoirs. Bring in your
catch to the visitor's cabin at Brighton Dam to be weighed and
recorded. The contest runs from March 1 to December 15.
Remember - to fish in any of the WSSC areas you will need a Watershed
Use Permit and a fishing license if you are of age. |

If boating is your 'thing', there is plenty of room for that on the
two reservoirs, with over 3,000 acres of water surface! Only
battery-powered motors, paddles, oars or sails are allowed on the
reservoir (NO gas motors!). There are seven boat ramps and four
mooring areas, if you'd like to leave your boat at the reservoir.
Again, a valid Watershed Use Permit is required, and an application
needs to be filled out to request a mooring site. |

There's nothing like a good outing to wind down a busy day, or enjoy the
freedom of the weekend! WSSC provides five picnic areas complete
with playgrounds, bathrooms (latrines), tables, charcoal fireplaces.
Best of all, these facilities are FREE!! First come, First served.
